YES: Mamdani's administration just funded New York City's first-ever pet food pantry program. $750,000 in the FY2027 budget, specifically to help pet owners who can't afford food for their animals. Another $750,000 goes toward affordable spay/neuter services. $1.5 million total, aimed at keeping people and their pets together. Here's why it matters: NYC animal shelters took in over 16,000 animals last year. Nearly 10,000 were strays. Another 6,500 were owner surrenders — people who loved their pets but couldn't afford to feed them or get them basic vet care, and had to give them up. Animal welfare advocates had been pushing for this for years, asking for $15.3 million to fully fund pantries, spay/neuter clinics in every borough, and a real animal welfare office. They got a fraction of the ask, But it's the first time the city has put dedicated dollars behind the idea at all. No family should have to choose between rent and feeding their family — pets included. This is a start.

while I absolutely understand where this post is coming from, sometimes people don’t give up their pets by choice people get evicted, deported (as we’ve seen in the US), or even unexpectedly pass away I can’t imagine the heartache of having to unwillingly rehome my pets

The earliest known record of a pet with a name dates back more than 3,450 years to ancient Egypt. The cat was called Nedjem, a name that translates to “Sweet One” or simply “Sweetie.” Nedjem belonged to Puimre, a high-ranking official who served as the Second Priest of Amun and oversaw temple estates and religious ceremonies at Karnak Temple. The cat’s name appears in Puimre’s decorated tomb at the Theban Necropolis, where Nedjem is shown beneath a chair, a common artistic way of depicting beloved household pets. The name Nedjem (ndm) means “Sweet One,” “Pleasant One,” or “Delightful One.” It was also used as a personal name in ancient Egypt, suggesting it was an affectionate and familiar term rather than one reserved for animals. Nedjem offers rare evidence of the close bond ancient Egyptians could share with their pets. Although cats were valued for protecting grain stores from rodents and snakes and were linked to the goddess Bastet, they were also cherished companions.

JUST IN: General "Raizin" Caine gives a detailed breakdown of the U.S. attack on Venezuela, says they were so detailed that they knew what Maduro ate and where his pets were. - 150 aircraft involved. - U.S. forces arrived at Maduro's compound at 1;01 a.m. - Helicopters came under fire, but "replied with that fire with overwhelming force and self-defense." - Maduro and his wife gave up and were taken into custody. - The youngest crew member was 20, and the oldest crew member was 49. - Preparation took several months. - "Those in the air over Caracas last night were willing to give their lives for those on the ground and in the helicopters." - "After months of work by our intelligence teammates to find Maduro and understand how he moved, where he lived, where he traveled, what he ate, what he wore, what were his pets..." - The weather was just clear enough for the mission so aviators could operate. - All U.S. soldiers are safe.

My deepest sympathies to the folks in Spokane who just lost everything in an instant. *As of now*, I've not seen any reports of fatalities, thank God, and I pray they were none, but a lot of beloved pets undoubtedly perished, and for many, that's like losing family. Nothing can really prepare you for this devastation, and I wish I could tell you it'll get better, but it won't for a long time. Please look after your neighbors; they have a very long and painful road ahead, and everyone will move on from caring about Spokane in a week or so. And everyone else, take heed...this is coming for you, too. Don't wait til the fire is at your patio door. Have a plan. Don't expect government to be there to save your home. And don't expect the fire to wait until you're at home and awake and ready...think about what happens when the fire comes at 2AM dead asleep, or when you're at work downtown, or 3 beers in on a river float 20 miles from home and your cats are all locked inside. You seldom get a real warning before the fire comes. Above all else, if I can offer any advice right now...lean further into God. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Have faith in His providence, even if your heart feels too broken to accept it right now.

Florida has enacted one of the strongest animal protection laws in the nation. Convicted animal abusers are now permanently banned from adopting or purchasing any pets in the state. Governor Ron DeSantis signed Dexter’s Law in May 2025, and it took effect on January 1, 2026. The legislation closes a dangerous loophole that previously allowed people convicted of animal cruelty to own pets again after serving their sentences. The law is named after Dexter, a rescue dog who was tragically killed by his adopter — a case that exposed critical weaknesses in the system. To prevent future tragedies, the law also establishes a statewide registry of convicted animal abusers. Shelters, breeders, pet stores, and even members of the public can now check this database before placing an animal with a potential owner. Offenders remain on the registry for up to ten years, giving organizations a powerful new tool to screen adopters and protect vulnerable animals.

PET VACCINES = TURBO CANCER EPIDEMIC Younger and younger dogs & cats are dying from aggressive “TURBO CANCER” — and holistic vet Dr. Judy Jasek is sounding the alarm: “Toxicity in PET VACCINES is triggering a full-blown CANCER epidemic in our animals.” Healthy pets get their routine shots… then suddenly face tumors exploding months later. Now Big Pharma is shoving mRNA technology into pet injections — and the cancer rates are skyrocketing even faster. This isn’t “rare” anymore. It’s happening to family pets left and right, right after boosters packed with toxic adjuvants and gene-therapy bioweapons. Your dogs and cats can’t speak — but you can. STOP BLINDLY ALLOWING THEM TO GET INJECTIONS. Question every shot. Demand answers. Protect the ones who depend on you. They’re FAMILY — not lab rats for profit. 💔🐾

Under Dr. Fauci's leadership, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases spent $1.68 million force-feeding toxic drugs to beagle puppies between 6 and 8 months old before dissecting and killing them. These animals are pets. Poisoned and killed on your dime. Because of public pressure and our fight in Congress, another $1.8 million experiment to abuse beagle puppies was cancelled. We will never stop fighting for the voiceless.

Every day, I see numerous posts about people’s pets passing away and how painful it is. I “like” each post because I feel each pet deserves it. Today it’s my turn. Three weeks ago, my adopted rescue Cat, Luna, passed away. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but I know they’re now pain-free and running happily. She was my sweetest baby in my life. My posts never get many views, but if you could look at the pics of my sweet Luna, I’d really appreciate it.

My good boy Sarge has just crossed the rainbow bridge. He’s free from the pain now. Hold your fur babies a little tighter tonight for my boy. He lived for snuggles… so the best way to honor him is simple: Every MAGA pet gets extra love and snuggles in Sarge’s name. Rest easy, good boy. 🐾

#pets #cats To anyone having to put a pet to sleep. Please don't give into your feelings & leave the room. Stay. Tell them it's alright, just a little sleep. Calm them. Don't leave them with strangers when they need you most. It's hard but your last duty. RIP Spooky 2008-2026

This was recorded last Tuesday morning at Meadow Creek Animal Services in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The woman is Evelyn. She's 83 years old. The dog in her lap is a small white flutty mixed-breed named Snowbell. Nine years old. They'd been together since Snowbell was eight weeks old. Evelyn's daughter Margaret had driven her to Meadow Creek that morning. Neither of them talked much on the way over. Three months ago, Evelyn had a serious health event that affected her balance and mobility significantly. After two months of rehabilitation, her doctors and family agreed that she needed a higher level of daily care than she could receive at home alone. Arrangements had been made for Evelyn to move into a residential care facility the following week. The facility did not allow pets. Evelyn had called four different facilities over six weeks looking for one that would make an exception. She'd asked her doctor to write a letter explaining Snowbell's importance to her daily emotional wellbeing. Two facilities reviewed the letter. Neither could accommodate the request due to resident allergy policies. Margaret had offered to keep Snowbell. But she lived four hours away and worked full time. She told us: "I wanted to say yes. I tried to figure out how. But Snowbell had never been away from my mother. I didn't think it was fair to either of them." The decision to bring Snowbell to Meadow Creek was made on a Sunday evening. Evelyn barely slept that night. At the shelter Tuesday morning, the intake coordinator placed the paperwork on the desk in front of Evelyn and gave her space. Evelyn had Snowbell in her lap. The security camera shows Evelyn picking up the pen. Looking at the first line. Stopping. Snowbell pressed both front paws against Evelyn's chest and pushed her nose into Evelyn's neck. Then wrapped her front legs tighter, the way a small child clings when they sense something is wrong. Evelyn put the pen down. Wrapped her arm around Snowbell. And sat there. Margaret stood behind her mother's chair with her hand on Evelyn's shoulder. Neither of them spoke. The intake coordinator, a woman named Rosa, told us she stepped away from the desk and gave them as much time as they needed. She said: "Evelyn didn't explain what was happening. She didn't have to. Snowbell knew something was happening. You could see it. She just kept holding on." Evelyn signed the papers eventually. She asked Rosa to note in Snowbell's file that she liked to sleep tucked under a blanket and that she preferred soft food over dry. Rosa wrote everything down. Evelyn kissed Snowbell on the top of her head. Handed her to Rosa. Stood up slowly with Margaret's help. And walked out. Rosa held Snowbell until she stopped trembling. Meadow Creek has flagged Snowbell as a priority adoption. Rosa checks on her every morning before her shift officially begins. Evelyn called the shelter on Thursday to ask how Snowbell was doing. Rosa told us: "I gave her a full update. Evelyn thanked me and said: 'She's not used to sleeping without the sound of my breathing.' I told her we'd make sure she wasn't alone." Some goodbyes aren't chosen. They're arrived at through a long road of trying every other option first. And some dogs hold on right until the last moment, not because they understand what's happening, but because they've always held on. That's just who they are.

🚨 Think about this for a second… How many people who entered the country illegally are carrying parasites right now — and how many of them are cooking your food, preparing your salads, or working in restaurants? How about pets, they carry parasites? National Geographic showed us years ago how common and dangerous these things are. Yet today almost no doctor will say: “Let’s run a real parasite test” or “Try a short course of ivermectin and see if your symptoms clear.” Meanwhile the silent load keeps growing. Watch this⬇️
