What is a Twitter shadowban?
A shadowban is when X quietly limits how far your content spreads without telling you. Your posts still exist, but they may stop showing in search, in autocomplete suggestions, or in replies for people who do not follow you. Reach drops and nothing in the app says why.
This tool checks the two restrictions that can actually be observed from outside X: whether your account comes back when someone searches your handle (a search suggestion ban), and whether your posts are returned by search at all (a search ban). Both are checked live against X's own index.
What we deliberately do not do: guess at reply deboosting. Detecting it needs the reply tree of a thread you don't own, viewed while logged out, and X does not expose that. Any checker reporting a reply-deboost verdict is inferring it, not measuring it. We'd rather show you an honest "not tested" than a confident number that's made up.

Tips for better results

Pause aggressive activity, delete anything that breaks the rules, stop any unauthorized automation, and post normally for a few days. Most soft limits lift on their own once behaviour looks normal again. Re-test after 48 hours.
Why does it say my account is protected?
Protected accounts are excluded from public search by design, so search visibility genuinely cannot be tested. That is not a shadowban and we do not report it as one.
