Fleets were Twitter's version of the 'stories' format popularized by Snapchat and Instagram. Launched in November 2020, Fleets allowed users to post temporary content that disappeared after 24 hours. The feature was positioned at the top of the Twitter timeline and could include text, photos, videos, and reactions to Tweets. Twitter discontinued Fleets in August 2021 due to low usage, making it one of the platform's shortest-lived features.
